Triple Ripple
Nick Cave & Bob Faust · 2015 · Eight folded posters in a folio cover · UV offset with fluorescent inks
A "magalogue," part magazine, part catalogue: eight large folded posters gathered inside a folio cover, so the whole thing can be read as a book or pulled apart and hung as a set. A hot-pink Soundsuit stands on the cover under slab-cut black caps, with "triple ripple" set in a thin hairline script that ripples straight through the figure. Inside, the sheets run through sequined and beaded Soundsuits, a beaded tondo, Macy's parade floats, and a wall of streaming color. Printed on a UV press with fluorescent inks so the pinks and oranges hold their charge on the sheet, co-created by Nick Cave and Bob Faust of Faust Ltd. and published by the artist through Kavi Gupta Editions.
The Soundsuit is a suit of armor. It hides gender, race, class, and forces you to look without judgment.Nick Cave
