Not Everything Is Meant For You

Chelsie Tamms · c. 2023 · Hand-lettered digital illustration, 24 × 36 in. poster

A four-part typographic stack, each line given its own hand-drawn container: NOT tucked into a sage oval, EVERY as inline-shaded caps in a magenta blob, THING in a cream slab across a marigold bar, and is meant / FOR YOU riding a peach banner over a cream cloud. Two olive leaf sprigs sit diagonally opposite each other and keep the composition from settling into a grid. The phrase reads as permission rather than rejection: not every opportunity, audience, or trend belongs to you, and letting go of the ones that don't is its own kind of creative discipline. Signed @letteringworks in the lower right. Printed at 24 × 36 inches.
