Below the Surface
Design Rangers · c. 2019 · Campaign poster series · 14 sheets · 12 × 18 in. (PDF trim size)
Fourteen posters from Design Rangers’ Below the Surface campaign for NAMI Colorado Springs, presented together in PDF page order. Each pairs an outwardly reassuring headline with the private thoughts beneath it, using bold typography, white space, and colored fields to make teenagers’ hidden experiences visible. The gallery includes I’m Happy, Count on Me, I Don’t Need Anyone, My Family Is Close, I Often Dream, I Look Great, I’m Myself, People Love Me, My Life Is Full, My Good Grades, I Have Friends, Parents Care, I’m in Love, and My Family Loves.
The fourteen-sheet supplied Below the Surface poster set, designed by Design Rangers for NAMI Colorado Springs. Developed with an eight-member local Youth Advisory Panel in early 2017, the campaign debuted at Manitou Springs High School and Atlas Prep High School in August 2017. During the 2017–2018 academic year, NAMI Colorado Springs brought it to another 14 schools in El Paso County. A subsequent Below the Surface youth leadership program launched in 2019; that program date is not the launch date of these individual poster designs. The campaign responded to teen suicide in the community and promoted an existing state-run crisis text service rather than a counseling service operated by NAMI itself.
The supplied PDF is titled “El Paso Co Posters_12x18” and records a creation date of December 3, 2019, with a later modification date of October 1, 2026. These are file-provenance dates, not confirmed design or printing dates; “c. 2019” describes this supplied edition only. The exact release dates of the individual sheets remain unconfirmed.
The artwork retains its historical “Text TALK to 38255” message, need2text.com address, and NAMI Colorado Springs, Colorado Crisis Services, and Colorado Department of Human Services marks. These are part of the archived artwork, not a verified current support directory. The PDF trim box confirms a finished size of 12 × 18 inches; the full page including its surrounding margin is 12.5 × 18.5 inches. The PDF names no individual designer or art director. Design Rangers is credited at studio level by its campaign case study; the partner marks are not printing credits. The physical printer, printing process, and paper stock remain undocumented.
