Girls of the Globe, September 2010
Hamilton Wood Type Museum · 2010 · Letterpress, edition of 100
September from the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum's 2010 Girls of the Globe calendar series. The sheet builds a pyramid of the full alphabet in Antique Tuscan, a face first shown by Wells & Webb in 1849, printed in soft grey, then overprints a vintage pin-up figure in warm rust so the woman and the letterforms occupy the same space. A September 2010 calendar grid runs along the bottom edge, the museum's roundel sits at the center, and the header line records the type's provenance. Printed by hand in an edition of 100; this impression is numbered 99 and signed in pencil.
