504 (New Orleans)
Josh Higgins · 2006 · Screen print · Hurricane Poster Project
A trumpet rendered as a living emblem, Higgins's contribution to the Hurricane Poster Project distills New Orleans's resilience into a single image: music as the city's root system. Higgins joined the project as one of its contributing artists, alongside more than 180 designers who donated posters that raised over $50,000 for Red Cross Katrina relief. Justin first connected with Josh through their mutual friend and longtime collaborator Terry Marks, a connection that led to Rule29's participation in both the Haiti Poster Project and the SoCal Fire Poster Project, two more of Higgins's design-as-relief efforts.
