A specimen sheet for Golden Gate Girder, a display alphabet Studio Hinrichs built for the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge in 2012. Every letter and numeral is constructed from riveted steel plate in International Orange, the bridge's own color, with chamfered corners borrowed from the truss work and highlights that read as sunlight on painted metal. Below the alphabet, a hairline elevation of the span doubles as a rule, its two towers marked by taller strokes.
