With All Flags Flying

Broad stripes and bright stars, arranged as a quilt. Drawn from Hinrichs' flag collection, the poster reproduces a pieced textile that folds a dozen flags into one pinwheel field, star blocks spinning off a center of concentric stripes, the whole thing framed by a star-studded border. Subtitled The Spirit of America for Over 225 Years, it is the flag treated the way it has actually been used in this country: made by hand, out of scraps, over and over.
