Legendre + Rutter Studio Opening

This is Lance Rutter's invitation to his own party: the launch of Legendre+Rutter, the Chicago studio he opened with Yann Legendre, timed to double as the founding celebration of the Chicago International Poster Biennial. Rutter collages a fictional bottle of "Château Lascaux" champagne, a sly nod to the cave paintings that started it all, into a scatter of torn poster scraps and Legendre+Rutter business cards. It's a self-initiated piece with real stakes behind the joke, since 2008 also marked the first edition of a poster biennial the pair would go on to run through 2010.
