Schwab reduces the cyclist to pure icon, speed, ambition, and national mythology in four flat colors. Originally a signed, numbered edition of 300 that raised more than $60,000 for cancer and youth cycling charities, it later entered the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery collection as a gift from the artist.
