One Touch Creates a Lasting Imprint
Justin Ahrens, Donovan Beery, Steve Hartman, Christine Taylor, Nate Voss · 2008 · Letterpress, Blind Emboss
A poster made to raise awareness and money for the work Life in Abundance International was doing across Central and Eastern Africa. One person can make an imprint, but many people working together create momentum. Each artist on the project contributed a fingerprint; those prints were enlarged, layered, and arranged into a pinwheel with the continent of Africa at its center, so the whole form appears to radiate outward. A literal use of the human touch, and a fitting metaphor for a model built on empowering local churches and communities rather than simply delivering aid. The line blind embossed across the sheet, "ONE TOUCH CREATES A LASTING IMPRINT ON AN ABUNDANCE OF LIVES," is pressed into the paper rather than printed on top of it, leaving an impression you can see and feel, with the fingerprints supplying all of the color and movement above it. Produced through the generosity of Spark Stationery and letterpress printed on EAMES™ Paper, Furniture, Solar White 120C from Neenah Paper.
