Poster for Bucher's 2015 retrospective "Everything Is Going Exactly as Planned" at Brandstater Gallery, La Sierra University, in Riverside, California. The show paired nearly a hundred pieces of past client work with speculative, imagined future projects, and featured a corner mural of wide pink stripes and hand-lettered title text that Bucher built with an assistant art professor and students over 45 hours before opening. The poster distills the show's spirit: ornate, swirling lettering in black against hot pink, the phrase repeating and wrapping like wallpaper.

'Everything is going exactly as planned' had come to me as a possible headstone inscription, but it seemed like an even better title for a retrospective.Stefan Bucher
