Bradley: His Book
William H. Bradley · 1896 · Lithographic Poster
"Bradley: His Book" was a short-lived but influential literary and art magazine that Bradley wrote, designed, edited, and printed himself at his Wayside Press in Springfield, Massachusetts, running just seven issues between May 1896 and February 1897 before his health forced it to fold. This promotional poster shows off his signature Art Nouveau style: flowing organic forms, bold flat color, and typography and illustration fused into one image. It reads as a visual manifesto for the magazine, and for the American graphic design movement Bradley helped define.
